Breaking Out: MMOTHS – Heart

by BerNs

One of the most promising artists of this year, virtually unknown a year ago, MMOTHS is the electronic project of Jack Colleran from Ireland

I think its awesome how the music scene works these days, when a young kid, with his 17 years of age, starts jamming on Ableton, one snowy night and creates a couple of tracks, uploads them on Soundcloud and a few months later, his music has reached all corners of the globe and has labels on the other side of the planet trying to sign him.

Thats exactly what happened to Collerman in late 2010 and little over a year here he is, signed to SQE, a new label based in Los Angeles, and releasing his first self-titled EP, that came out earlier this month! Stating Bon Iver as a major influence and having played piano all his life, his music is this delightful electronic ambient bliss filled with reverbs and chilled beats that ultimately translates into something that hypnotizes you from the first note.

To promote the release of the EP we get the first official video for Heart directed by Jamie Delaney and Keith Nally. A track that was originally produced without the vocals, but that after he signed on with SQE gained a new voice with Keep Shelly In Athens:

Also, bellow i’ll leave you with the outstanding unofficial remixes of Bon Iver‘s Babys and Passion Pit‘s Little Secrets and one of his first tracks that got him on the radar. Head off to his soundcloud and grab his EP if you want to hear more!
